Meet Bridgette
"Perhaps love is the process of my leading you gently back to yourself." Saint-Exupery
I have loved singing and music since the day my ears, mouth and heart, heard, sang and felt music. There is something so clear and pure about singing what I feel, opening myself up as a channel and letting all of that love just flow out to whoever is present to receive it, including me.
I also love people. Being a witness to someone remembering themselves and what they have to share is a miracle, in my opinion. Seeing someone smile and have moments of carefree joy is extraordinary and I get to help others experience this! Everything I've ever done in my life has brought me to this moment, guided me to a purpose that has been planted deep inside. Now it has light to grow. And wow, what an amazing journey this has turned into....
Today, I am in the process of creating and offering a program called, "Food From the Ground Up", which is all about helping people become aware of what they eat and how to make changes towards a healthy lifestyle, one choice at a time. Because I have had some health challenges in my own life and felt the difference in shifting how I live, I feel a responsibility to share what I've learned and experienced. I have easy ways to make small steps, that will lead to happier, healthier people. And amazing people at that! Wait until the kids are informing their parents of the healthiest choices when shopping or eating out! They are soooo smart!
To find out more go to the Food From the Ground Up website.
Now, I am constantly learning about our planet, our food, local food growers and how to choose what I feed myself, mind, body and spirit, with awareness and good stewardship.
And I get to share all of this with you! What an incredible life this is!
That's why I feed it well...
Born 1963 San Antonio, Texas (probably came out singing)
Moved to New Jersey as an infant
Oldest of four kids
Loved singing and creating artistic stuff... still do
Sang in choir, musicals, madrigals and musicals throughout school
Had my son, Justin, at 17 years of age
Married Dave at 21, still married to Dave!
Worked many, many jobs.. farm market girl, bank teller, McDonald's cashier, makeup artist, tanning salon office person, housecleaner, babysitter, self-employed (I owned a children's clothing store, handpainted clothing and gifts, personalized kids' educational toys), personal chef, makeup and skin care, aerobics instructor, Cub Scout leader and on.
I joined my first wedding band at 24 years of age.
This began my journey of "band life"; wedding bands, club/bar bands, lots of top 40 music and providing music for the special events in people's lives.
While singing in my last wedding band in the NJ/NY area, I began performing in the senior community (1999), as a way to make a living during the day with music. It then became apparent that I had something purposeful to share in nursing homes. There seemed to be a much greater response when I came to sing. So began, "Happy to Be Alive", the music program I created to wake up the residents and bring some alive, happy moments into their day.
I've recorded 3 CDs, my first one, "I Am Enough", is all originals, very earthy and raw, the second, "Simply Beautiful", is voice and harp with a loving, calming intention and the last one, "Let the Love Shine" was created from some of my favorite "hippie" songs with a few others I felt compelled to include. I "feel good" whenever I listen to it.
Since I can't be everywhere, (oh, but I wish I could!), the CDs are a great way to share music. It is singing live, with a group of people, that really jazzes me. I love the interaction and the exchange of energy between us and there is something pure and sacred that is created in that interaction.
In 2007, I began a personal process of health and self-care. The story that has grown from my not knowing how to love myself, to taking complete responsibility for my health and my life is nothing short of amazing, considering the struggle that I've been living for over 22 years. From these experiences, I am offering the process and tools to families, groups, schools, healthcare providers, anyone who is interested in becoming aware of what they eat and think, and how to choose a healthy life, one choice at a time. Makes sense, right? Yet most of America chooses foods and thoughts that support our bodies and minds in sickness, pain and sometimes, death. That's why it's so important to learn what's in your food and begin to make choices for nourishing LIFE inside of you and your body!! If you don't take care of you, who will? And who will teach our kids? To learn more about this, go to:

I have also started a nonprofit corporation, The Love in the Center Foundation, devoted to this work. I want to see every child, every adult, caring for themselves/being cared for with the utmost love. Imagine the world, full of people who are loved and loving, fully responsible for their lives, creating what brings them great joy. This is my vision and why I do what I do...
